Core Functions and Performance:

• Provided direct patient care, stabilized patients and determined next course of action.
• Managed care from admission to discharge.
• To provide safe and efficient nursing care in support of medical care, as directed by the physician
• Render professional nursing care to patients/ employees as assigned unit of clinic carrying the policies & procedure of the clinic in efficient manner
• Respond to any emergency calls inside the plant/ company premise & work as an
• Ambulance nurse during rescues and patient referrals to designated Medical Facility
• Collect all necessary information concerning the employee from the hospital (doctor’s diagnosis, room number if employee admitted, etc.) as reference
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during treatments and examination of the patients
• Administer prescribe medication orally and by injection as directed by the physician
• Administer and observe progress of prescribed intravenous infusion
• Monitor vital signs during the patient visits; observe patient in recovery room
• (Temperature, pulse rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure and weight if necessary) and record obtained information
• Keep record and log of patient visits in the computer & clinic logbook
• Computer scanning of patient’s medical file for record safekeeping
• Maintain a good standard of cleanliness and readiness of all medical equipment in the clinic as per infection control policy
• Give appropriate in- patient care to admitted employee in the recovery room
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Core Functions and Performance:

• Provide nursing care in Medical/ Surgical Ward, Isolation Ward and Quarantine Unit
• Develops nursing care plans that meet the individualized needs of the patients
• Prepares and administers medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Knows action and side effects of medication administered at designated times
• Advise on the promotion of health and prevention of illness
• Assists in diagnostic and therapeutic assessments of patient’s condition
• Accurately observes, reports and records to proper source
• Initiates appropriate measures in an emergency situation
• Know procedures and placement of equipment in case of fire or disaster
• Gives oral and written reports of pertinent information to oncoming staff
• Communicates accurately in oral or written reports
• Makes daily rounds, recording and reporting symptoms and progress
• Adheres to policies and procedures for Health Care Services
• Knows and complies with policies and procedures which have been developed by Davao Prison and Penal Farm Hospital
• Responsible for safety and welfare of patients through proper implementation of nursing procedures
• Routinely observes nursing care given and makes suggestions accordingly
• Follows Universal Precautions and Infection Control guidelines
• Implements accurately the precautions and guidelines
• Consistently demonstrates professional attitudes and manner including confidentiality
• Professional in appearance and relationships with staff and patients

Other Duties:

• Participates actively in the growth and development of nursing personnel through monthly staff meetings, daily reports, nursing rounds, and staff development meetings
• Knowledgeable regarding fire and health emergency disaster plans
• Conduct Basic Health Emergency Trainings such as Basic Life Support Training and Standard First Aid Training in accordance to Health Emergency and Management Bureau.

• Assisted licensed nursing staff in providing direct and indirect patient care
• Maintained an organized, clean and safe environment
• Assures that personal hygiene needs of all patients are met: bathing, oral care, perineal care, hair care, nail care, shaving, and skin care
• Performs treatments and procedures as directed by the Nurse on duty within the limits of the individual's training (ambulation, warm packs, restraints, etc.)
• Collects and records information pertinent to the patient's status
• Takes vital signs, performs simple neuro checks
• Empties and measures drainage tubes and bags as directed by the Nurse
• Notifies nurse on duty of significant changes in the patient's condition
• Record nutritional intake and I & O
• Makes regular patient rounds
• Assists in admission and discharge/transfer of patient as directed by nurse on duty and according to procedure
• Initiates treatments as directed
• Collects information (vital signs, personal information), as needed, depending on time of admission
• Cares for patient's valuables according to procedure with assistance of nurse on duty
• Assists patient in preparing for discharge: dressing, packing, accompanying discharged patient to vehicle
• Reports significant unusual findings to nurse on duty
• Adheres to standards of safety and infection control in delivery of patient care
• Maintains a clean, orderly patient unit for each patient
• Assures that isolation principles are understood and carried out
• Maintains awareness of the patient's and family's need for emotional support and understanding
• Performs other duties as assigned and individual is qualified to perform.

Area of Exposure:

• Operating Room, Delivery Room, Medical Communicable Pavilion Ward, Pedia- oncology ward, Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU), ENT- HNS clinic, Ophthalmology & Surgery clinic
