- Lead and review the design of electrical systems such as:
Power distribution (LV/MV systems)
Lighting and small power
Earthing and lightning protection
Fire alarm, BMS, access control, CCTV, and other low-current systems - Ensure compliance with international and local standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, Saudi SBC, NFPA, BS).
- Validate design calculations (load estimation, voltage drop, short-circuit, cable sizing, and protection coordination).
- Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, architectural, structural) to resolve design clashes.
- Review and approve contractors’ shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
- Conduct value engineering reviews to optimize cost and performance.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and design intent.
- Evaluate alternative proposals and issue technical recommendations.
- Conduct site inspections to verify that installation matches approved drawings and standards.
- Issue inspection reports and non-conformance reports (NCRs) when required.
- Witness testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Coordinate with the contractor and project management team to resolve technical issues.
- Act as a technical advisor to the client and project management team.
- Attend coordination meetings with clients, contractors, and authorities.
