SWCC Replacement of ended lifetime technology and assets for Shoaiba phase-1 Water desalination plant -EPC project (600,000 m3/Day) - 1.9 billion SAR

Engineering Phase:

• Perform Gravity filter design review (for drawings & calc
• Reports) & ensure compliance with SWCC specifications
• Review the technical submittals from the vendors for all mechanical equipment (pumps, valves, air blowers & compressors, etc.) and submit the vendor technical submittal VTS to the O/OE
• Prepare technical replies for O/OE CRSs (Comments Review Sheets) to achieve 'approved' status for Mechanical documents
• Designed Shoaiba 5 Product water transmission line to the phase 2 tanks (4.0 km, DN2000 CS pipe)
• Prepare the hydraulic calc
• For the product transmission line for the pump selection
• Review the stress analysis and surge analysis for the product transmission line
• Prepare BoQ for Mechanical works
• Estimate & prepare required documents for mechanical-related V.Os

Construction Phase:

• Delivered expert technical support during project installation phases, swiftly resolving any issues to minimize delays and maintain client satisfaction.
• Review of the monthly invoice (progress pilling) for subcontractors
• Validate variation orders (V.O.) by subcontractors for Mechanical-related works
• Managed subcontractors effectively, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
• Led a team and subcontractor in installing under-drain blocks and media filling for 54 gravity filters
• Led a team and subcontractor through all stages of the product transmission line, starting from excavation, pipe laying, welding, internal and external coating, flushing and densification, hydro-testing, and culminating in testing and startup

Commissioning Phase:

• Prepare pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures for all systems with the commissioning manager
• Conducted site surveys, reviewed design and engineering documents, coordinated with project engineers and contractors, and ensured the availability of necessary materials and equipment for commissioning
• Supervise testing individual components of the plant, including pumps, valves, instrument compressors, filters, and control systems, to ensure they function correctly before integration
• Perform bubble and air-water tests for the gravity filters and media washing and run the filters as designed
• Perform commissioning for all equipment and systems (from seawater intake system, pretreatment, RO 1st & 2nd Pass, and post treatment up to the product water pumping station)
• Start and monitor the plant's performance, adjusting setpoints for optimal water treatment efficiency
• Diagnosing and resolving issues that arise during the commissioning process, as well as developing maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the long-term performance of the plant
• Records of all activities, including test results, system configurations, and any changes made to the system, to ensure compliance with SWCC specifications
• Perform the Reliability test (30 days) and Performance test (7 days) with full capacity running and performance guarantees as per contract and SWCC specifications
• Perform inspections with O/OE commissioning engineers during all stages of commissioning.

Operation Phase:

Operation Manager (During Warranty Period):

• Plan the shift for the operation team, including Shift Engineers, supervisors, and control room operators, to ensure smooth operation
• Manage a team of operators, technicians, and engineers and ensure they are adequately trained
• Generating daily reports on plant performance and maintenance activities for senior management and SWCC authorities
• Ensure that product water produced by the plant meets SWCC quality standards
• Coordinate with the SWCC LDC daily to develop and implement strategies to optimize water production levels based on demand, ensuring that water production targets are met
• Planning and effectuating the predictive & preventive maintenance schedules for various equipment to increase machine uptime & equipment reliability
• Implementing maintenance schedules and carrying out periodic checks to ensure the performance of various equipment and maintaining requisite documents for the same

SATELLITE DESALINATION PLANT ALONG THE WEST COAST OF SAUDI ARABIA (8 Plants)

• Managing the O&M for eight satellite desalination plants along the west coast of Saudi Arabia, with a capacity of 220,000 m3/day
• Oversee the entire operation of all plants by coordinating with the finance, procurement, and technical departments to ensure smooth functioning
• Develop preventative maintenance schedules, monitor equipment performance, and coordinate repairs or replacements when necessary

• Commissioned Shuqaiq seawater RO desalination plant (42,500m3/day)
• Responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the plant by overseeing and supervising all management, operation, and maintenance activities at Shuqaiq Desalination Plant
• Assumes responsibility for ensuring the plant's effectiveness by formulating department goals, strategies, and operating policies and procedures

• Installed Ummluj seawater desalination plant (25,500m3/day)
• Participated in project review meetings to evaluate progress & de-bottlenecking
• Developed project baselines; monitored & controlled projects concerning cost, resource deployment, time overruns, and quality compliance to ensure satisfactory project execution
• Anchoring erection & commissioning activities for ensuring completion of work within time & cost parameters and utilizing resources to maximize output; conducting tests to ensure operational effectiveness of utilities & equipment
• Conducting commissioning of machines & equipment and ensuring project completion in minimum turnaround time and effective resource utilization to maximize the output
• Planning and effectuating the predictive & preventive maintenance schedules for various equipment to increase machine uptime & equipment reliability
• Implementing maintenance schedules and carrying out periodic checks to ensure the performance of various equipment and maintaining requisite documents for the same

• Commissioned the KASCT Al Khafji Seawater Desalination Plant powered by solar energy, with a capacity of 60,000m3/day and 10 MW
