Reservoir Management
Saudi Aramco
01.2007 - 01.2009
1. Led the field development team for the Dammam field redevelopment. This involved managing simulation results, production options, drilling planning, geological modeling, seismic results, and lab tests. This field was shut-in for the last thirty years, and required a complete redevelopment plan and execution. I completely revised the previous development plan, cancelling the need for injection pressure support, and reducing the number of producing wells by half.
2. Led the reservoir management team for the offshore Abu Sa’fah field (300 MBD). This field is the only field operated by Saudi Aramco with ESPs. After analyzing their water encroachment data, I concluded that the field is being improperly depleted in the central part, with little depletion occurring in the peripheral regions. I immediately began a workover campaign to sidetrack into the edges of the field to gain production, increasing aquifer support, and improving structural control.
