Establishes exploration strategies, oversees reserve modeling and continuous updating using mining software, and ensures the preparation of technical reports and plans to support long-term resource availability and strategic decision-making. - Plans, directs and coordinates the mechanical excavation of raw materials from the limestone and clay quarries, is responsible that the right quality and quantity of raw materials are excavated and transported to the plant, to ensure that production targets and quality aspects are met, in accordance with the established operational plan and instructions from the Plant Manager.
- Meets regularly with department, division and plant management to discuss operation plans and programs for the plant. Provides recommendations to improve the overall efficiency of quarry operations and to enhance toe general harmony and interaction of work between the various organizations of the plant.
- Plans and directs the execution of the blasting program to quarries and determines the blasting schedules, the patter for explosive materials, depth and diameter of holes, etc., and ensures adherence to all safety regulations and practices during blasting operations.
- Plans and develops the proper methods, procedures and schedules to execute the efficient mechanical excavation of quarries. Mobilizes heavy duty equipment and personnel to meet this objective and oversees the day to day loading and transport of raw materials to ensure that production and quality goals are achieved with minimum cost expenditures.
- Plans, directs and coordinates the operation of the Crushers to deliver the crushed raw materials to the Production Department, includes crushing of the additives material.
- Plans, directs and coordinates hauling of additives materials like gypsum, iron ore, bauxite, Clay includes transportations, storage and shifting from one place at plant site to another until they are finally crushed and consumed in production.
- Coordinates work activities with other departments as required, such as with Production and Process & Quality Control, regarding the proper quantities of raw materials and quality control and with Maintenance personnel to ensure the proper upkeep and maintenance of heavy-duty equipment and trucks required carrying out the work.
- Directs the activities of the Surveyor and ensures the proper surveying of quarry areas and the accurate preparation of daily geological cross sections, maps, drawings, etc., that are required for the exploitation of the quarries.
- Reviews and approves various daily, weekly and monthly activity reports covering maintenance of equipment, production, areas excavated, problems, recommendations, etc.
- Directs and participates in the quarterly cost analysis of quarry operations, analysis and evaluates all costs elements in determining the average cost per metric cubic meter of raw materials excavated and transported to crushers.
- Plans and establishes the safety rules and regulations for all quarry operations and ensures that all personnel strictly adhere to all safety requirements.
