Summary:
Assists Head of Service in coordination of day to day departmental operations in department with more than 200 employees. Responsible for quality and overall operational performance of all therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care services. May act as Head in absence of Head of Service.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
. Provides administrative support to Head of Service.
. Acts as deputy for Head of RCS in his/her absence as directed.

. Ensures optimum utilization of equipment, supplies, warehouse stock items, space and personnel.
. Directs departmental purchasing and product evaluation.
. Coordinates Special/Equipment purchase requisitions (SPR/EPR).

. Assists with revision and implementation of departmental Policies and Procedures.
. Acts as a liaison between Respiratory Care Services and other administrative departments and external organizations.
. Manages and develops relationships with other institutions, professional affiliates, etc, as appropriate.
. Participates in and coordinates all Medical Outreach Programs.
. Assists in preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly, statistical productivity and other reports.
. Coordinates administrative RCS intranet and computing systems and access.
. Assists in enforcement of all Personnel policies, and handling of disciplinary problems as requested by Head of Respiratory Care Services.
. Supervises and directs performance of Pulmonary Function Lab.
. Coordinates and oversees functions of RCS Blood Gas Lab.
. Assists and provides back-up to other members of RCS leadership team as required.
. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
. Participates in self and others’ education, training and development, as applicable.
