Accomplishments

  • Rubber lined storage vessels in-service inspection & repair works were carried out as per the applicable codes and standards for maintaining the equipment reliable and continuous availability to plant operation.
  • Revamped flash cooler vessel, pre-condenser, condenser, Filtrate receiver tank, Absorber, Evaporator and rubber lining (Triflex type – soft/hard/soft) with steam curing done at the plant for the first time, without sending to vendor site (M/s MIL, Chennai). Same was quality ensured by shore hardness, spark test, peel-off test & visual survey.
  • Periodic inspection of Graphite heat exchangers (plate type), clarifiers, Pan Filter, Belt filter were carried as per the asset integrity schedule and given suitable recommendation based on observations.
  • Belt filter Head & Tail drum condition assessed & reconditioned by rubber lagging to improve the reliability of belt filter
  • Belt filter damaged Mother belt was repaired under the guidance of M/s REMA TIP TOP by clamping methodology, with reinforced PP strip with SS counter shank bolt to improve the slurry filtration efficiency and phosphoric acid production. Which increase the availability of belt filter and reduce the plant down time.
  • Mother belt kerb repair done, to eliminate the vacuum breaking and improve the belt filter filtration effectiveness.
  • Belt filters Vacuum box integrity to be ensured by periodic thickness survey & alignment checking.
  • Inner lined RCC Reactor Roof was rehabilitated with acid resistant coating by engaging M/s CUMI Refractories and ensured the job quality by holiday test and visual inspection.
  • Ensured all the compartments of Reactor wall & Cleanout manhole inner carbon tile lining integrity by effective annual visual inspection & pointing work for each compartment as per applicable codes and standards for maintaining the reactor reliable and continuous availability to plant operation.
  • Reactor Agitator MOC upgraded from SS 316L grade with butyl rubber lining to SS 904L solid shaft (or) Sanicro-28 tubular shaft which extends the service life from 3 years to 5 years.
  • Reactor Agitator-1, 3, 4, 6 rubber lined base frame renewed which improves the agitator reliability and reduces abnormal vibration.
  • Root cause analysis was carried out for all critical equipment failures like, shell leak on vacuum vessels (flash cooler vessel, condenser, pre-condenser, Filtrate receiver tank, etc.), shell bulge on fluorine absorber, shell leak on storage tanks, Manhole leak of Reactor manhole (compartment 07, 08 & 09) & frequent failure on reactor mixing tee. Recommendations for all the above failures were given as per the OEM guidelines, design specification and applicable codes & standards.
  • Reactor Mixing Tee MOC upgraded from metallic concentric dip pipe to ceramic cone which improves the service life from 1 year to 3 years.
  • Axial pump suction spool and discharge divergent spool 904L plate lining done to eliminate the frequent leak, to improvise the asset life and to reduce plant down time.
  • Rod mill inner and outer grid plate assessed & renewed to improve the grinding efficiency and equipment reliability.
