

Dr. Gubair is a dedicated academic and Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics with extensive experience in higher education. He currently serves on the faculty at Jouf University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while being on leave from his position at the University of Khartoum in Sudan. He holds a Ph.D. in English Language from the University of Khartoum (2013), complemented by an M.A. (1995) and a B.A. (Honors) (1993) in English Language from the same institution. Dr. Gubair has a long and progressive career at the University of Khartoum, spanning over two decades. His experience includes key administrative and leadership roles, such as Head of the English Department, Deputy Dean for Languages and Administrative Affairs, and Coordinator of Post-graduate Studies. His work has involved curriculum development, teacher training, and coordinating programs like the Diploma, MA in TESOL, and Ph.D. His research interests are contemporary and focused on the intersection of language education and social development. He has published extensively on topics including: Intercultural competence, Peace education through language teaching, curriculum development, teacher mentoring, and the challenges of teaching English literature and academic speaking skills. His recent publications appear in international journals, emphasizing practical applications in the classroom. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Gubair is a peace activist and works as an interpreter. He is also the author of "Bridging the Gap," a three-level English language course series developed for university freshmen.
