  • When I started at Access Solutions I was in charge of dispatch and day to day operations on the hire desk, bringing skills I have learnt in the hire industry in Australia and the UK
  • After 4 months on the hire desk a sales role became available which I was encouraged to take
  • I took the role as BDM at Access Solutions in charge of the North and West of Auckland
  • This role has helped me to greater understand the sales process and the importance of customer relationships and communication
  • While in this role I have grown existing accounts using customer service skills and sales techniques, I have also found new customers month after month who continue to use our services and grow with the business
  • In December 2018 I completed a Dale Carnegie sales course and finished top of the class
  • I believe this experience made me a much better salesman while helping with communication between myself and my customers.

  • I would also assist with maintaining the Powered Access Fleet, this included Small Electric Scissor Lifts up to 60M and Boom Lifts
  • Part of my role included operating machines for our customers.

  • My job on the Maintenance team at Wilpena Pound Resort was to perform all duties regarding the maintenance of this Remote Resort Complex

  • Another key element included face-to-face guest services and customer enquiries
  • I was also called upon to work the bar and restaurant when needed in busy times, and I was more than happy to oblige.

  • Following a successful period of work experience from school, I joined the Astley Hire team as a Service Engineer
  • My duties included the maintenance and regular service of all of the hire fleet
  • Whilst I held this position, I trained in the electrical testing of items, in addition to training in the maintenance and repair of small engines, both petrol and diesel
  • I also had extensive in-house training in the repair and maintenance of our large diesel-powered heaters, portable air conditioning, and evaporative coolers
  • Following a year in the workshop, I was asked to take a trial in the Hire Office
  • I joined the Heating & Cooling Department, which I would later manage, and started my NVQ level 2 in customer service
  • My experience included building solid relationships with some of our largest customers and I continued to learn the day-to-day running of the hire desk
  • I learned many valuable skills from working closely with both my depot manager and our company director.
