•Operating Theatre Circulating Nurse
• Ensure the cleanliness of the Theatre Room before pushing in the patient.
• Check the Safety Checklist before the start of the theatre list.
• Transfer the patient from the Holding Area to the Theatre Room with the Main Responsible Surgeon (MRS) and the Main Responsible Anesthetist (MRA).
• Assist the patient in transferring from the trolley to the operating table.
• Monitor the patient until patient is fully anesthetized.
• Assist the Surgeon and Anesthetist in the positioning of the patient ensuring all limbs are supported, padded and secured on the operating table.
• Check instruments, swabs, sharps and other supplementary items with Scrub Nurse audibly and record in the White Wipe Board.
• Ensure that the correct size of diathermy pad is properly applied to the patient.
• Conduct Time-Out before skin incision using the Surgical Safety Checklist.
• Provide additional items needed.
• Monitor the patient positioning throughout the operative procedure to ensure patient's safety.
• Receive surgical specimen/s from the Scrub Nurse.
• Monitor any item that drops ion the floor from the surgical field and informs the Scrub Nurse.
• Clean the patient and observe privacy after surgery.
• Check the necessary instrument sets and supplementary items needed for the next surgery.
• Handover to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nurse together with the Main Responsible Anesthetist (MRA).
•Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions.
•Collaborate to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care.
•Deliver health education programs.
•Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
•Monitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
