I am a board-certified pediatric cardiologist with specialized training in both pediatric cardiac interventions and adult congenital heart disease.
I graduated from the College of Medicine at King Saud University and completed my Saudi General Pediatric Board certification in 2014. In 2018, I finished a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at King Abdulaziz Cardiac Center.
I have trained in premier institutions such as King Abdulaziz Cardiac Center (KACC) and Prince Sultan Cardiac Center (PSCC) in Saudi Arabia. I further enhanced my expertise through an accredited fellowship in Pediatric Interventional Cardiology at Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) in Crumlin, followed by a clinical fellowship in adult congenital heart diseases at the University of Toronto.
In 2023, I joined King Abdulaziz Cardiac Center as a Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Interventionist and Adult Congenital Heart Disease Specialist.
I was also honored to be elected as a Fellow of The PICS Society in 2024, recognizing my contributions to the field.
Toronto Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Program is one of the first and largest of its kind in the world, serving rapidly growing ACHD population in Canada and referral from allover the world. It serve more than 5,500 outpatient visits each year.
During fellowship, I had been assigned weekly outpatient clinics, including a monographic heart failure clinic for patients with congenital heart disease and to look after complex congenital heart disease inpatients during on-call weeks. As part of my duties, I also presented cases in Multidisciplinary Team Meeting almost every week.
Pediatric interventional program is under the Royal college of physician of Ireland (RCPI) at children’s health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin in Dublin, Ireland.
CHI cardiac centre is a very well-known cardiac centre, they perform about 650-700 catheter per year and about 450-500 cardiac surgery per year. The catheter lab is a well-known with extensive work in the field of pediatric cardiac catheterization including hybrid catheter lab.
I joined Prince Sultan cardiac center catheter lab for dedicated catheter lab training. PSCC is located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The catheter lab is a well-known with extensive work in the field of pediatric cardiac catheterization including hybrid catheter lab.
Pediatric cardiology section is also a well-known teaching and referral centre with services and program in pediatric cardiology, offering a full range of cardiac care services in pediatric cardiology including inpatients, outpatients, advanced imaging centre, catheterization unit and electrophysiology lab for pediatric and adult patients with congenital heart defect.
King Abdulaziz cardiac center (KACC) is located within King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The centre is one of the leading centres for cardiac diseases in the region. It has 4 catheterization laboratories, 5 operating rooms and a total of 150 beds, 50 of them are critical care beds.
Pediatric cardiology section is also a well-known teaching and referral centre with services and program in pediatric cardiology, offering a full range of cardiac care services in pediatric cardiology including inpatients, outpatients, advanced imaging centre, catheterization unit and electrophysiology lab for pediatric and adult patients with congenital heart defect. It started pediatric and adult heart transplantation recently.
The centre is equipped with a total of 43 pediatric cardiac beds [15 beds for critical care beds, 12 beds for high dependency care beds and 16 beds for pediatric cardiology ward patients]. The centre operates around 500 congenital cardiac surgeries annually and around 400 pediatric cardiac catheterization are performed annually both diagnostic and interventional including the advanced interventional procedures.
The pediatric cardiac board program is a 3 year structured training program with annual, end of year examination and final two-stage examination supervised by the Saudi commission for health speciality (SCFHS). Usually we rotate with other training hospital, I, myself, spent four months in Prince Sultan Cardiac Centre (PSCC) in Riyadh
The General Paediatric board program is a 4 year structured training program with annual, end of year examination and final two-stage examination supervised by the Saudi commission for health speciality (SCFHS).
I complete 12 months of rotation in different medical and surgical specialties.
