- Review and updates policies and procedures with Infection Control Head of Department and Infection Control Committee members.
- Advises personnel about hospital isolation policies and procedures and ensures that measures are appropriate to improve the care of patients in isolation.
- Maintains close liaison with Employee Health Clinic of the hospital to ascertain the presence of infection in the hospital personnel.
- Acts as resource person of infection control issues and support for nurses in clinical areas.
- Serves as an adviser to department head on departmental policies and procedures related to infection control.
- Provides information for new employees and periodic updates for nursing personnel and personnel from other departments as to the importance of infection control.
- Conducts inspection of high risk patient care areas and environmental and food service areas, in conjunction with the preventive medicine physician.
