Consultant

  • Lead the Infection Prevention and Control department as a consultant, overseeing the diagnosis and treatment of complex infectious conditions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care, guiding research initiatives, and ensuring the highest standards of care for infectious diseases at our esteemed hospital.
  • Assess & supervise hospital organization's infection prevention and control program activities to determine issues, priorities and potential opportunities for intervention and improvement.
  • Including surveillance activities. Employee health, education, regulatory compliance, job descriptions, evaluation tools and report forms, process observations, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Identify high-risk areas and develop a set of prevention strategies.
  • Evaluate high-risk care processes such as high-level disinfection, sterilization, and dialysis or laundry management.
  • Review all departmental policies related to infection control.
  • Evaluate, revise or create required documents, such as risk assessment, exposure control plans and waterborne pathogen management plans.
  • Assist with outbreaks or other infection control related occurrences.
  • Collaboratively work with your team members to create competency evaluations associated with infection prevention practices.
  • Assist with the development of infection prevention plans and program activities.
  • Blood-borne pathogen and tuberculosis exposure control plans.

  • Cover duty service with Infection Diseases rounds and consultation.
  • Covering outpatient clinic.
  • Covering inpatient consultation according to the distributed on-call Rota.
  • Supervising fellow and residents and providing both education and feedback.
  • Cover duty service with antimicrobial stewardship program.
  • Plans and evaluates outcomes of Antimicrobial Stewardship studies related to prescribing patterns and antibiotic resistance.
  • Conducts and monitors daily functions related to Antimicrobial Stewardship related to maintaining the honor rolls, staying up to date on new guidelines and studies, and helping infection preventions.
  • Reviews documents for accuracy and compliance with guidelines & regulations.
  • Attend subcommittee and implement strategies to address stewardship in facilities.
  • Conducts onsite assessments of select facilities for stewardship practice and works with subcommittee to offer education on antibiotic stewardship.
  • Collaborate with Other department such Pharmacy, Microbiology, Hospital epidemiology and Information technology to ensure success of the program.
  • Minimum Seven (7) years of experience post-qualification in Hospital Infection Control/ Infectious Diseases/ASP.
  • Knowledge of national and international regulations related to Infection Control.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in developing and implanting policies and procedures related to Infection Control.
