- In the grossing station, full acknowledgment about the specimen accession and rejection according to Hospital Departmental Procedure Manual. Preparing specimens for grossing (non knife and knife needing grossing). All non knife specimens I am grossing independently with annual competency >60%. For knife needed specimens I have experience in cutting all routine specimens as: product of conception, hemorrhoids, nasal polyps etc…
- Processor’s fluid preparation, changing and dealing with a different program for small and surgical specimens.
- Enter data accurately on the computer including demographics, and grossing details.
- Working On Leica Tissue Processor, , Leica Tissue Processor Histocore Pearl , Leica Cassette Printer
- Full hand skills in embedding and microtomy for all types of tissues with problem-solving proficiency for difficult tissue as calcified or hemorrhagic materials. Full speed microtomy up to 20-25 blocks in one hour, 100- 120 blocks per 9-hour working day with needed unstained slides preparation.

Leica Automated Microtomy , Leica Water Bath , Bio Optica Cold Plate , Histocore Arcadia C Cold Plate Leica,Thermo Histostar Embedding (,Tissue Tek Tec Sakura, Histocore Arcadia H Paraffin Embedding Leica , Bio Optica Cold Plate Histocore Arcadia C Cold Plate Leica.
For staining skills:
- Full knowledge about manual routine H&E staining and different special stains.
- Working on:
Leica Autostainer, Dako Coverstainer ,Ventana Special Stain, Digital Pathology Philips.
- Frozen section full capacity for specimens’ preparation, Cryostat, and slides preparation in the short time between 5-10 minutes for the first section to be ready for the pathologist to read. Problem-solving proficiency during intradepartmental consultation technical skills and sequential Cytology preparation.
- Working on:
Cryostat CM 1860 UV Leica
- Full capacity for CAP preparation, CAP PT (Proficiency Testing) CBAHI preparation for documentation needed for accreditation.
- Experience 2 years of work at the Histopathology Department in AGH Dammam - (Almana Hospitals.)
- For Cytology work, I'm preparing slides smear and cell blocks using direct smears and Thin Prep liquid base Cytology and BD.
