The Assistant Project Manager (APM) carries out a multitude of functions by assisting
and supporting the Project Manager (PM) in discharging his duties. His position and
responsibilities are those of active involvement in the day-to-day running of the project
as broadly defined below :
Key Duties & Responsibilities :
Responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager include but are not limited to the
following :
A. PROJECT MANAGEMENT & ADMINISTRATION
1. In consultation with the PM, organize and maintain project files, and assist with
handling specific tasks to team members (Snr. Engr's.)
2. Follow up and monitor staff duties, attendance, and work performance.
3. Assist in planning and spec. analysis in order to provide clear, traceable, and coordinated interpretation(s) of the Issue for Construction Drawings (IFC).
4. Oversee Document Control functions in accordance with on‐site policy and
procedures.
5. Oversee/monitor processes & procedures regarding RFIs (Request for
Inspection), NCNs (Non-Conformance Notices), etc.
6. Attend project coordination and owner/contractor meetings as requested by
PM.
B. TECHNICAL SUPPORT & COORDINATION
7. Oversee and coordinate the use of approved project materials, generate
schedules and reports, manage minutes of meetings (MOMs), and update
project information and scheduling.
8. Assist in evaluation and solution of potential field problems, referring them
always to the Project Manager for final decision/resolution.
9. Oversee Quality Control (QC) & Health & Safety (H&S) activities on site, in
accordance with instructions and inspection programs.
10. Provide technical engineering information/guidance to the supervision team to
ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications
and design intent, IFC drawings. and site instructions.
11. Research and recommend solutions to design document problems, including
conflicts, interferences, and errors/omissions.
12. Participate in the continuous updating and accurate generation of as‐built
documents, and assist with the research and preparation of field change requests
to resolve design issues.
13. Perform additional assignments and responsibilities as requested by Project
Mngr.
Sites supervisor is responsible for the sites under his control and should overview and ensure quality control, safety, progress, etc., are all in accordance with Contract requirements. sites supervisor must utilize his staff on the sites effectively to get the best return from them and to ensure the progress of the works.

Following up the whole infrastructure and utilities activities at the project, coordinating with all contractors and sub-contractors in the project ( Electrical, water, sewerage, telephone networks, and house connections ), coordinating with all related authorities for the Al-Qaser project to ensure the required quality .

9- Review contractor method statements and develop proposals through the contractor to improve progress and reduce the construction duration /cost.
10- Provide assistance and coordinate with the PMCS department /project engineer with regard to progress reports and review of draft payment certificates submitted by contractors.
11- Arrange and attend technical workshops with the contractor and consultant to resolve any pending issues related to shop drawings and materials submittal.
12- Advise the construction manager/project manager about the site logistic plan as may be required per the progress of site activities.
13- Delegate authority to review and verification of daily construction reports (DCR) to the building superintendent.
14- Delegate site QA/QC issues to the QA engineer for following up and report back with the outcome and ensure that intermediate inspections and approvals are taking place as per the approved QA/QC plans.
15- Site safety /security issues shall be reported to the contractor administrator for necessary action.
