Hamish McKay

Involved in the day to day operations of the farm including:

General stock work, including general day to day care for sheep and cattle, marking lambs and calves, worming and basic veterinary care.

Shearing preparation and shed hand including wool classing.

Liaising with stock agents preparing stock for sale.

Establishing new fences and repairing old fencing.

Involvement with pasture renovation and seeding.

Assisting with vehicle and machinery maintenance and repairs.

Gained practical experience in brewing including:

Assisted in the brewing process working with the head brewer, adding and sourcing ingredients (malted grain, hops and yeast based on beer type)

Monitored beer during brewing and fermentation process including temperature control.

Worked with canning staff to set up and run the canning line.

Assisted the warehouse manager with packing and sorting beer prior to dispatch.

Cleaning and sanitisation of brewing equipment and tanks prior to and after the brewing process.
