As part of the Transition to Professional Practice Program, I spent six months at Noarlunga Hospital, learning the skills of the Instrument and Circulation Nurse. I constantly researched relevant surgical procedures, policies, guidelines and responsibilities to increase my understanding of the required pre and post-surgical care. I was able to demonstrate commitment to lifelong learning through my questioning style and research to discover best practice. I provided professional, safe and an effective level of advocative nursing care to all patients that I interacted with.
