Jake Williss

I'm Jake I graduated high school in 2023. I applied for a traineeship in education support in 2022, starting later that year. Through the completion of this traineeship I achieved a Certificate III. Leading me to becoming an SSO at the primary school I was hosted at th next year. I love working as an SSO and wish to keep working in education for years to come.

I like to build connections with students through asking how their day was/is going. From this I hope to gain their respect and trust leading me to being someone they feel open to talking to and communicating with. This approach has proven effective in helping me support the students I work with. My main goal is improving students wellbeing and academic results.

I'm a dynamic individual with hands-on experience in classroom support. Talent for assessing situations effectively. I bring strong problem-solving skills and understanding of students challenges. Committed to improving my skills as an SSO.

I'm currently enrolled in Flinders University studying teaching. I aspire to becoming a well supportive teacher that understands their students. Working as an SSO has greatly helped me better understand students. I understand students wellbeing needs and how to better support them during their learning.
