Appointed as Group HSSE Manager for the Operations & Maintenance (FM) and Construction divisions of the company. This position entailed the overall planning and preparation of company execution models, HSE Management system development and implementation.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, operational HSE oversight of 79 Operations and Maintenance projects and 7 major construction infrastructure projects that includes the construction of international airports and multi-level high rise buildings

Key attributes and activities;

• Develop an integrated corporate HSE Management System based on KSA HSE legislation, ISO45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO22301 system requirements and company risk profile
• Develop, enhance and foster a safety culture within the organization
• Develop protégé programs to enhance Saudization and promote local HSSE Professionals
• Develop Company Objectives & Targets based on current operational risks and trends
• Develop HSE programs and initiatives to achieve company objectives & targets and to enhance individual HSE culture including executive ownership & responsibilities
• Conduct corporate audits and cold eye reviews on execution projects (construction projects, facilities management, company labor camps and food health & safety)
• Develop company in house HSE training modules based on execution activities and HSE Management Systems
• HSSE Department resource placing and manpower planning
• Individual pre-project planning and requirements preparation
• Compile Incident Prevention and Mitigation Plans based on leading and lagging indicators
• Department budget planning and development
• Develop HSE Proposal documentation in conjunction with business development and planning departments
• Lead and facilitate “Major Events/High Potential Incident investigations
• Develop COVID-19 Management Plans
• Develop Business Continuity Management Programs based on ISO22310:2012 Standard requirements
• Develop Business Resumptions Plans
• Overall responsible for the company's HSSE Department.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, my role is to develop and implement a world class integrated HSSE Management system that is industry leading and create an HSSE culture within the organization from executive management down to projects personnel. Within the first year of my tenure, the developed HSSE management system was certified with ISO45001-2018, ISO14001-2015 and ISO22310:2012 International standards

Appointed as Senior HSE Manager for the execution of numerous large capital projects in various sectors.

Sectors including Oil & Gas, Mining & Metals, Infrastructure and Energy & Chemicals.

The projects were predominantly EPCM, EPC, PCM and CM contracts. Projects included the Front End Engineering and Design phase (FEED) up to project close out.

Projects lead in my capacity as Senior HSE Manager included the Debswana Jwaneng Cut 8 project (450mm USD), Eastplats Concentrator (250mm USD), Debswana Letlhakane Mine Tailings Project (500mm USD), Sasol GHHER Project (700mm USD) and Sasol 17 Oxygen Train OBL Scope (350mm USD). These project were located in Botswana and South Africa that meant working with a large diversity of cultures and ethnic groups.

Responsibilities included developing HSE systems, execution plans and the implementation thereof during the execution of the projects. This included but not limited to;

• Development of Project HSE Execution Plans,
• Development of Business Continuity Management Plans,
• Development of Emergency and Disaster Recovery Plans,
• Prepare HSSE Manual and specification in accordance with local statutory and client requirements,
• Risk Management Master Plans including project Base Line Risk Assessments and Risk Mitigation Plans,
• Development of HSE Training plans and training material (training modules),
• Development and tailoring of Fluor's Global HSE Management system to cater for project requirements,
• Development of incident and Near Miss reporting protocols,
• Analysed Health & Safety statistics using software to identify trends and mitigate risks.
• Reduced accidents by building strong Health & Safety culture and communications for the projects,
• Conducted Health & Safety investigations, including writing reports and following up on corrective action,
• Prepared reports outlining achievement of Health, Safety and Environmental KPIs,
• Reviewed and assessed plans of subcontractors to determine safety measures,
• Identification and monitoring of HSE Leading and Lagging indicators,
• Developing and implementation of HSE initiatives and HSE promotion plans including Behavior Based Safety initiatives,
• Performing corporate HSE system audits,
• Performing HSE Gap Analysis and cold eye reviews,
• ISO45001:2018 and ISO14001:2015 certification audits
• Facilitate project’s Base Line Risk Assessment preparation,
• HSE budget preparation for the overall project,
• Adjudicate and pre-qualification of execution contractors,
• Facilitate client ICAM Investigations related to the project,
• Manage the project’s HSE department in all aspects in accordance with OSHA Requirements, Fluor Specifications,
  the Botswana Mines and Quarries Act and Debswana Mine HSE Specifications.

Appointed as Lead HSE Manager for the execution of numerous large capital power generation projects in various countries such Madagascar, Cameroon and Morocco.

The projects were predominantly Turnkey EPCM with management of execution contractors. Projects completed were Rio Tinto's QMM Power Plant (60mm USD), Tan-Tan Power Generation Plant, Morocco (1.62bn USD), Dakhla Power Plant Extension, Morocco (27mm USD) and Kribi Gas Power Plant, Cameroon (290mm USD).

Responsibilities included developing HSE systems, execution plans and the implementation thereof during the execution of the projects. This included but not limited to;

• Development of Project HSE Execution Plans,
• Development of Emergency and Disaster Recovery Plans,
• Prepare HSSE Manual and specification in accordance with local statutory and client requirements,

Appointed as the HSE Lead during the initial planning phase and execution of the Pebble Bed Modular Nuclear Reactor Project.

The position entailed preparing HSE documentation in accordance with the South African National Nuclear Regulator in order receive letter of no objection and assisting in obtaining the Environmental approval from the South African Environmental Management Agency for the execution of the project.

NATREF is a joint venture inland 108 000 bpd refinery with Sasol Oil and Total SA as the main partners supplying fuel to the inland region of South Africa. It is supplied with crude oil by a 600 km pipeline from Durban harbor. Due to its geographical location, it is a high white product yield refinery with complex unit operations throughout.

Appointed as the Principle HSE Practitioner for the refinery's projects division responsible for the overall planning and coordination of capital projects and shutdowns.

Responsibilities included but not limited to;

• HSE Planning and project specification development for the Natref Clean Fuels II project,
• Developing Contractor HSE requirements for shut down and small projects,
• HSE Auditing and HSE oversight of contractors,
• Facilitating Hazardous Operability Assessments for new designs,
• Participation in SILT reviews,
• Facilitating Incident Investigations,
• Planning Project Emergency and Disaster Recovery Plans,
• Facilitating Project Base Line Risk Assessments,
• Developing Risk Mitigation Plans
• Analysing HSE Trends based on leading and lagging indicators,
• Overall responsible for the HSE Department in the Projects Division.

Appointed as Health & Safety Officer for the execution of multiple Power Generation outages and projects. The projects were self perform construction. Projects completed includes the Natref Clean Fuels I Project, Camden Power station revamp project, Majuba Power Station gas burner replacement project.

Responsibilities included;

• Field HSE overview during project execution,
• Conducting Incident Investigations,
• Facilitating issue based risk assessment,
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety act of South Africa,
• Participating in the daily execution activities planning,
• Daily review of field HSE documentation,
• Initiated and assisted in emergency drills, including simulations of foreseeable emergencies with local authorities,
