· Assist the E&I supervisor in coordination of daily maintenance, Prepare scope of work for preventive and corrective maintenance activities when required. Perform material requisitions.

· Participation in Daily Meetings, coach Junior Engineers, Interaction with Operations and other departments.

· Support during turnarounds, outages, fire rebuild and new plants start-up, Prepare and review list of work with justification. Specification of parts required for turnaround.

· Coach engineers in training, project support.

• Prepared the preventive maintenance plan and procedures in the Exxon Mobil Jose Upgrader, including Risk assessment process for Instrumentation: Development of Equipment strategies, with detailed written procedures, to perform preventive maintenance for every group of instruments. Training of technicians in the new procedures, as per Exxon Mobil’s Competency Assurance System.

·Troubleshooting instrumentation systems for the Amuay and Cardon (Centro Refinador Paraguana) refineries.

· Prepared detailed engineering and scope of work to upgrade instrumentation systems.

· Prepared technical specifications to purchase instrumentation

· Supervised a crew of 10 instrument technicians for 6 months. Managed budget, preventive maintenance plans, workforce and schedule.

· Prepared and supervised during the application of instrumentation systems start-up procedures, on-line troubleshooting procedures and on-line preventive maintenance procedures, including safety and control systems for compressors, blowers, pumps, coke handling systems and other refinery plants.

· Performed a study to change the existing “time-based” preventive maintenance plan to “Critical and condition-based”.

• Basic and detailed Engineering to improve Instrumentation Systems.
• Prepared the Design Basis Document to upgrade the Amuay Refinery Tank Farm Tele-metering system. Proposed a solution to upgrade an existing 15-wire based tank Tele-metering system (used to monitor level and remote operate Motor Operated Valves and Pumps) with a VAREC™ 2 wire system, including instrumentation upgrade, cost-benefit, justification and schedule

In charge of the electronic shop. Supervised a crew of 8 electronic technicians performing preventive and corrective maintenance of Telecommunication equipments such as: Telephones, communication systems and PLCs. Managed budget, inventory, parts control, spare parts purchases, training requirements, workforce and schedule.
