I am an Enrolled Nurse who has progressed from graduate practice to a confident clinician through one year of experience on a highly acute surgical ward.
I am seeking an opportunity to continue delivering safe, evidence-based care while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
Throughout my first year of practice, I have developed strong clinical judgement in recognising and escalating patient deterioration, including initiating and participating in MET calls. I am confident in post-operative patient management, close observation, timely escalation, and supporting complex surgical patients through their recovery.
My clinical competencies include peripheral cannulation and venepuncture, drain management, IDC care, TPN administration, enteral feeding management (PEG, PEJ and NGT), PICC line care, PCA and ketamine infusion management under direction, VAC dressings, complex wound care, stoma and ostomy care. I am experienced in pre- and post-care for endoscopy and colonoscopy patients, IV antibiotic administration, and safe medication administration, including DDA administration and counts in collaboration with a Registered Nurse.
I have experience supporting patients requiring palliative care, providing symptom management, comfort-focused care, and compassionate support to patients and families in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
I work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, collaborating closely with medical staff, allied health, and home care teams to ensure continuity of care and safe discharge planning. I consistently provide high-quality personal care while maintaining patient dignity, safety, and comfort.
I am recognised for developing strong clinical judgement, reliability, and confidence in managing acute surgical patients within my first year of practice.
I am motivated, adaptable, and committed to ongoing professional development, and I would welcome the opportunity to contribute as a confident Enrolled Nurse within your service.
