• AREA OF EXPERTISE; Hematology, Microbiology & Parasitology and Chemical pathology.
• Job description:
• Perform moderate and high complexity testing in haematology specimens for diagnostic purposes, Administer routine and stat testing in various sections of the laboratory, including haematology (CBC, Manual Differential cell count.
• Reporting Blood smears for aprimary picture of anaemias,Leukemia and Blood parasites, ESR, Coagulation study), clinical chemistry, body fluid analysis, urinalysis, and point of care instrumentation.
• Operate and calibrated an assortment of laboratory/testing equipment and troubleshot/resolved instrument problems
• Participate in the evaluation of new techniques and procedures in the laboratory Clinical Training.

AREA OF EXPERTISE: HEMATOLOGY LAB

• Perform day-to-day bench duties in the assigned section in accordance with the established standard operation procedures (SOPs) and in compliance with Hospital policies and safety standards,Assist in the training of Med.Tech students, new staff,medical students and pathology residents
• Participate in continuing medical education (CME) activities.
• Perform and document all required QCA and monitor quality assurance.
• Perform CAP and other proficiency surveys as applicable Perform duties in accordance with the Joint Commission on International Accreditation (JCIA), College of American Pathologists (CAP), Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO).
• Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Nuclear Registration
• Commission (NRC) and National Institute of Health (NIH) (, WHO, OSHA, NFPA, EPA, andNIH.).
• Perform other job-related duties as required.

• AREA OF EXPERTISE; GENERAL/CORE LAB
• Perform all routine tests in all laboratories as Chemical analysis (LFT,RFT,Cardiac enzyme and Lipid profile).
• In the microbiology and Parasitology section perform urine and stool general,culture and inoculate different specimens in various suitable media in Serology do all routine latex agglutination for ASO, Rh.factor, VDRL,and Widal tests for enteric and titration of the obtained result.
• In haematology Lab performs Routine and special investigations including CBC, Coagulation study,and Comment blood film for primary picture of RBCs and WBCs disorders.
• Followed quality control procedures to maintain sample integrity.
• Maintained strict compliance with hazardous chemical safety policies, mitigating potential risks.

A 550-bed referral Hospital has a staff of 34 Technologists in theMicrobiology Laboratory department which is accredited by theCollege of American pathologist (CAP) and Joint Commission International (JCI) and offers services in bacteriology, virology mycology and infectious disease serology.

AREA OF EXPERTISE; MICROBIOLOGY LAB

• Duties include receiving specimens, selecting and inoculating appropriate microbiological media, reading gram stain and performing all routine tests in the section
• Performing and interpreting routine and special investigations.
• Performed laboratory cleaning duties including safe waste disposal, disinfecting surfaces and laundry management.
• Sterilised equipment and performed routine checks to adhere to health safety and cleanliness regulations.

• AREA OF EXPERTISE; Haematology Lab, Microbiology, and Blood bank
• performing and interpreting routine and special investigations like CBC, ESR, Reporting of blood smears, Blood Parasites, manual Reticulocyte count, Sickling test, PT., PTT, Fibrinogen and FDPs,
• Receiving specimens, selecting and inoculating appropriate microbiological media, reading gram stain and performing all routine tests in the section.
• Loaded and unloaded laboratory analysers, identifying samples requiring further testing.

• The work includes taking test samples and conducting tests in all labs. (Hematology, Microbiology,chemistry,and parasitology)
• Maintained strict compliance with hazardous chemical safety policies, mitigating potential risks.
• Carefully stored chemicals and samples following department guidelines.
• Loaded samples onto centrifuges and other sample preparation equipment.
• Distributed sample request forms, sample jars and other consumables to customers in line with procedures.
