KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Effectively working and managing the JV Audit and Compliance functions;
  • Provide periodic reporting on the status and operations of the IA function to the JV Audit Committee;
  • Advanced knowledge of internal control frameworks (COSO, COBIT, ISO 31000 for risk).
  • Knowledge of International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IPPF).
  • Developing and managing a risk-based audit universe, audit plans and audit program to deliver assurance, process/control improvement and optimization results to the organization;
  • Managing the planning and execution of operational audits, IT audits, special projects and other engagements as needed; Developing audit risks, scopes, objectives, work programs and testing procedures as needed;
  • Reviewing / preparing audit workpapers and draft reports;
  • Completing, or supervising completion of, assigned audits, advisory engagements or special projects; Documenting business and system processes as needed, identifying relevant risks and controls;
  • Effectively and efficiently executing process design reviews and control testing procedures to fulfill audit objectives;
  • Supervising and reviewing the work product of audit team members, ensuring quality work is performed and properly documented to support audit conclusions;
  • Identifying audit findings and developing sound corrective recommendations;
  • Leading or attending audit closing meetings to communicate audit work, findings and recommendations to management. Assist with action plan development;

Professional Ethics

Participates in initiating/promoting the establishment and continuous improvement of the Corporate Governance Framework including Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Code of Conduct, Ethics and Values. Discusses ethical conflicts with company management.

Governance, Risk and Compliance management

  • Identify key compliance areas under Joint Venture Concession Rules and Regulations requirements/ instructions issued by the Ministry of Oil to regulate Petroleum Operations.
  • Establish and monitor Risk Management Framework for Contract Area and ensure that Risk Register is maintained and updated on regular basis;
  • Ensure that Compliance Register/ Checklist is prepared and updated on regular basis.
  • Establish a List of Compliance Deadlines and ensure that relevant department / staff is assigned to meet such deadlines.
  • Periodically review and assess the efficiency of Risk & Compliance Framework and explore other important areas requiring immediate management action.

Risk Assessment and Internal Audit Plan

  • Provide input for the preparation of periodic report on Audit activities and performance relative to its plans, significant risk exposures, controls/governance issues and other related matters.
  • Lead the preparation of the periodic Risk Assessments for audit planning purposes.
  • Develops Risk- Based Work Plans, consistent with the inputs from Audit Committee/CEO/Management, to determine the priorities of the Internal Audit activities.
