I do medical rounds on the patients from 8 am to 12 pm then from 1 pm to 4 pm I attend the outpatient clinic .In daily round , i see inpatients clinically and revise the labs and images of every patient. The round is not only a clinical round , but also teaching round for the junior doctors. We discuss the diagnosis , investigations , plan of management , prognosis and discharge plan.
I see general medicine cases including pneumonias , deep venous thrombosis , pyelonephritis , and also patients under investigations as fever for investigations , pancytopenia , generalized LN enlargement for investigations , loss of weight for investigations .we follow hematology cases including bleeding tendency as thrombocytopenias , hemophilia , sickle cell disease patients , thrombophilia patients , thalassemia.
During the last 4 years , from 2020 till now , I diagnose malignant hematological cases and share in the management decision in MDT meetings.
I diagnose many cases of malignant hematological diseases as :cml , PV , MPN and HCL and splenic lymphoma, diffuse large B cell and acute leukemias.
I begin residency in training hematology centre in Ain Shams University Hospitals in 2007 till 2010.During my residency , we admit and follow all hematology cases during inpatient , in icu and in opd and we see consultations and referral from other departments due to hematological disorders.
i give systemic chemotherapy , intrathecal and prepare the patient for radiotherapy if indicated. we also have BMT unit at which we transplant acute leukemias , aplastic anemia , LPD , myeloproliferative disorder eighter allogenic , autologous or syngeneic transplantation.
We begin round at 8 am and finished by 5 pm , and in some days we cover OPD in a rotation manner . we have opd for : CML , MPN , LPD , myeloma and benign hematology cases .
In BMT round , we cover inpatient during transplantation process and post transplantation in opd
At 2010 , I had master degree in general medicine and hematology and I was a registrar in hematology department. I complete the previous journey from early round to follow opd patients and day unit for chemotherapy patients in addition to the BMT round for inpatients and opd posttransplant cases.
In addition , I begin a teaching course for the hematology residents and general medicine for interns. Many hematological topics were discussed and I was stressing on hematological emergencies as tumor lysis syndrome , MAH , hypercalcemia , mediastinal syndrome and complications of blood transfusion , as we see many cases of hematological emergencies.
On 2016 , I had a PHD degree in general medicine and I begin my work as general medicine and hematology consultant, and since then I had my work as hematology consultant , then I had medical doctorate in clinical hematology and BMT on 2022.
