Projects

  • Self-Balancing Robot

- Description: Developed a self-balancing robot using deep reinforcement learning (RL) to achieve stable upright positioning. The project was part of the EE 3631 – Control Theory course. 

- Approach: Trained an RL model within the constraints and requirements specific to the robot, focusing on creating a compact model with fewer than 10,000 trainable parameters for microcontroller implementation.

  • World Robot Olympiad Participation

- Description: Built a robot for the World Robot Olympiad as a senior electrical engineering student, collaborating with mechanical engineering teammates.

 - Approach: Started the project from scratch, utilizing 3D printing and a CNC machine to create parts. Focused on the electrical aspects of the robot, including designing a smart circuit.

  • Robot Localization with Python and Particle Filters

- Description: Tackled a real-world robotics problem by simulating a robot moving in an unknown environment to discover its location using a terrain map and an elevation sensor. 

- Approach:: Coded the particle filter from scratch using Python and numpy.
