Accomplishments

  • Led the planning and execution of the DHT clean fuel catalyst upgrade project to comply with the kingdom-wide clean fuel regulations. The catalyst upgrade enabled YR to meet the required sulfur, density, and distillation specifications. In addition, the additive injection skid was also installed to meet lubricity and conductivity requirements. The comprehensive project allowed YR to be the leading facility in producing ULSD. It's worth mentioning that the planning steps and material orders were secured timely considering COVID-19 restrictions and challenges.
  • Led the activities of developing an Operational Excellence model for LUBERE. The model is built from scratch and includes 12 enabling Elements with their processes and KPIs.
  • Assigned as the champion for 2021 EMSR and the overall coordinator for YR, BP, frpD, and Terminal. EMSR topics were focused on leading the way in cleaner fuel and 3-D innovation. It's worth mentioning that the success of 2021 EMSR was highlighted in the Arabian sun and Aramco life and was well received by SA Executive Management.
  • Deferred the planned partial catalyst change out of DHT from the 2019 Turnaround. As a result, a cost avoidance of $2.5 MM is realized in terms of de-scoping catalyst offloading and loading activities and advancing the planned refinery start-up schedule.
  • Safely and Effectively Avoid the S/D DHT unit during SWS shortage for 45 days refinery startup & column replacement) by applying a special procedure for this period, the cost for DHT S/D avoidance for 45 days is around $20.0MM
  • Productively Reviewed the dryer's regeneration cycle to minimize YR flaring and improve YRD KPIs by 5 MMSCF. this initiative was accomplished by modifying the regen period from 3 days to 7 days.
  • Solve the chronic issue of DHT Flaring from C0003 by upgrading the Low Amine absorber Down comer clearance adjustment and the profit around $ 0.5 MM (by avoiding reducing DHT feed to avoid impacting the amine system).
  • Successfully De-scope PWHT of ISOM scupper by referring to SABP-A-016. It's worth mentioning that the de-scoping of PWHT for the ISOM scrubber saved approximately $ 0.3MM
  • Successfully completed ISOM Unit I-82 catalyst performance test run to meet the catalyst guarantee requirements. The catalyst exhibits excellent performance at low operating temperatures exceeding the guaranteed RON of 82.2 throughout the entire test run duration. The RON improvement from 79 to 84 post-catalyst replacement reduces the requirement of MTBE blending in the gasoline pool and results in a benefit of $ 6.87 MM per year.
