Goals and ambitions boost potential, channel energies positively, and increase our abilities. They serve humanity on an individual and collective level, transforming us from ineffectual angels to heralds of a new era. Teaching allows us to continuously learn and progress. As a teacher, my greatest objective is to impart a love of learning to my students, therefore I share my own enthusiasm and motivation for learning with them and try to make my sessions exciting and conducive to learning. During my CELTA and TESOL programs, I attended various sessions with native trainees and trainers, which influenced my approach to language teaching. My updated teaching and learning techniques have really assisted me in making my lessons more fascinating and engaging. Simultaneously, I found teaching to be more demanding, systematic, and challenging. Student participation is crucial in a language class for learning. To maximize their participation, I always urge my students to speak about the topic being taught and employ different approaches to educating them according to their level, learning styles, and needs. They should be good listeners, however, I believe that they cannot benefit from the lecture/lesson until they actively participate in the class activities. Reflecting on my education, I remember a teacher who truly cared about my achievement. Instead of being authoritarian, a language teacher should be a facilitator and enabler, using everyday language and real-life examples. Apart from the pedagogical techniques and strategies that I have been using in the language classroom, I wish to inculcate information literacy skills in my students which are essential to students’ ability to search and use information effectively. I also intend to enhance their digital literacy skills in the next few years. It will enable learners to develop critical thinking skills, promote learners’ autonomy and help them feel more confident, and increase learners’ motivation as well. To sum up, as a teacher and learner, I always focus on continuous learning and exploring methods along with my students, asking for feedback after each lesson and providing them with constructive feedback simultaneously.
