  • EXPEC Advanced Research Centre Laboratory Buildings, Saudi Arabia
  • Detailed design and tender documents for research facility for Saudi ARAMCO’s Exploration and Petroleum Engineering Centre (EXPEC), consisting of laboratory and office building, maintenance building and electrical switchgear building with all associated site services
  • The Laboratory building has a built-up area 55,000 m2 (basement and four stories), accommodating 307 laboratories, and 850 open and closed office spaces
  • The maintenance building houses workshop, storage areas and related facilities
  • The Project also comprises a 215 m long pedestrian linking the laboratory building to the core area
  • Responsible for the review, coordination and approval of structural shop drawings, material submittals for the following Project:
  • New Administrative Capital Cairo, Egypt
  • Programme management, design management and review, and construction of 34 ministerial buildings, and cabinet and Parliament buildings
  • Total built-up area 1.68 million m2
  • The scope covers all architectural finishing and interior works in addition to all infrastructure and other components
  • Upgrading and Rehabilitation of Al-Salt City Centre, Jordan
  • Supervision of site construction works for the upgrading and rehabilitation of O’qba bin Nafa School Area surroundings to create public space on 15,000 m2 aiming at transforming it to touristic attraction

  • Master plan, feasibility analysis, detailed design, tender documents, tender management, and supervision of construction for water supply and fire-fighting networks, sewage collection and stormwater drainage networks, irrigation network, sewage treatment facilities, water wells with associated RO treatment plant, solid waste management system, 40 km road network with a tramway and 4 underpasses, street lighting, low-current and telecommunication systems, security systems with Central Monitoring Station, 2 district cooling plants with capacities of 75,000 and 85,000 TR and chilled water networks of around 90 km, administration and O&M buildings, serving an 800 ha district with an estimated total built-up area of 4,700,000 m²
  • Madinah Haram Expansion - Supervision, Saudi Arabia
  • Design review and supervision of construction for the expansion of the Prophet’s Mosque and its piazzas in Madinah to increase their overall capacity to over 1,600,000 worshipers
  • The project comprises 4,740,000 m² of new praying areas as well as the addition of a second floor - with a total area of 211,000 m² - on top of King Fahd's existing extension (Second Saudi Extension), construction of a new expansion building (2,490,000 m²), Central Utility Complex (CUC), and all infrastructure and parking services
  • Both conventional and special structural systems (concrete frames, flat slabs, concrete arches, etc.) were utilised in the expansion buildings
  • Deep foundations comprise piles socketed in rock piles
  • Challenging spans were examined for the 72 m×72 m/48 m high pinnacle hall free of intermediate columns
  • The height of the main floors reaches 18 m whereas the height of the service floor reaches 5 m
  • The main framing system with typical spans of 24 m was provided to hold the heavy decorative artificial stone and the massive arches with spans up to 24 m

  • Data collection, master plan update, feasibility study, preliminary design, preparation of tender documents, review of detailed design prepared by the Contractor, and supervision of construction for a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility, consisting of a 14-bay wide-bodied aircraft maintenance hangar (107,100 m²), 2-bay paint hangar (13,000 m²), 4-aircraft wash dock (28,000 m²), engine run-up area and blast fence (18,000 m²), shop core building and administration block (90,000 m²), warehouse (45,000 m²), 14-aircraft apron (110,000 m²), and a car parking area for 2,000 cars (48,000 m²), including all electromechanical and infrastructure utilities and networks
  • The Exchange, Ghana
  • Master plan, detailed design (under BIM management) and supervision of construction for a new urban mixed-use development on a 7-acre site in Accra, comprising several towers on a common podium, and featuring a 7-storey hotel, 7 to 8-storey office buildings, 7-storey residential building, 3-storey retail building, utility building, and underground parking, complete with all infrastructure and landscaping services

  • King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Extension for the Holy Haram, Saudi Arabia
  • Design review and supervision of construction for an extension to the Makkah Holy Haram to accommodate additional 800,000 worshipers, comprising a new building of 4 praying levels with a capacity of 300,000 worshipers, connected at its ground, first and roof floors to the First Saudi Extension of Makkah Haram, and includes a basement level for electromechanical services; state-of-the-art technology in natural and artificial climate and lighting controls; security, crowd management, and sound distribution and control systems; structural health monitoring sensors; cleaning equipment; interactive signage; and high end interior finishing works
  • The project provides internal courtyards covered with 12 operable skylights, 6 fixed ones, 4 fixed domes of 18 m diameter each, and one 36 m diameter sliding dome above the 24 m wide/26 m high ceremonial spine connecting the north and south piazzas through a 59 m wide main gate at the north end flanked by 2 new minarets (135 m high each) on its left and right sides and a 30 m wide gate at the south end
  • The project also comprises 194,000 m² external praying piazzas accommodating 314,000 worshipers with 2,500 toilet cubicles and 850 ablution points beneath them; a service building of 6 overlapped radial steps accommodating 8,750 toilets, 5,370 ablution points, 2 helipads, authorities’ offices, and a 110,000 m² praying area at its roof level for 165,000 worshipers
  • The main structural system comprises intermediate moment resisting frames with variable spans (moderate to long) that hold solid slabs to support high level of live loads, heavy artificial stone and heavy raised floors
  • Movable domes at roof level are provided for the smart shading system in addition to photo cells system as a clean energy source.
