Orthopedic Device Management: Fit and adjust durable medical equipment (DME), including braces, slings, walking boots, and traction equipment.
Patient Education: Instruct patients and families on the proper care of casts and splints, as well as the use of walking aids like crutches, canes, and walkers.
Clinical Support: Assist physicians with in-office procedures such as joint aspirations, digital blocks, and minor surgical interventions.
Patient Preparation and Intake: Take patient medical histories and vital signs, and prepare patients and examination rooms for treatment or surgery.
Wound and Post-Operative Care: Perform basic wound care, including cleaning wounds and removing sutures, staples, or pins under medical direction.
Equipment Maintenance: Clean, sterilize, and maintain orthopedic tools and instruments, such as cast saws and surgical equipment.
