Other Hospital Activities
, A member of the Formulary and Therapeutic and of the ethics committees in KFSH-D in addition to being a member of other less active committees: the ethical committee, religious committee and the patient advocate committee. I supervised KFSHD outreach renal care for several while it was active (inactive over last three years because of understaffing). I maintained a proactive attitude toward the Hospital development and wrote many ideas in this regard, Community Activities and Other Non-Medical Activities:
- , Gave several medical lecture on healthy life styles and on nutrition to multiple small public gatherings and wrote many short articles and comments in the social communication activities.
Author of an introduction of 20 pages on healthy food in a cooking book, 2004.
My Approach:
I maintain a holistic approach toward the care of the patients I follow. I don't limit my care to that of one system, i.e. the renal system. I do not limit my patients' care to the classical medical or renal investigations and interventions. I maintain an individualized approach and address all the other potential problems. I try the approach of Al-Ihsan (the extra mile) as much as possible with an open mind toward “Functional Medicine” approaches.
