  • Reviewing all the contract and legal documents to ensure the O&M is executed according to the client's requirements
  • Responsible for developing all the procedures, systems, and recruitment(60 people) for the project
  • Review all the drawings, and EPC documents and check on-site to make sure it is built as per the drawings
  • Define indicators and KPIs for each process unit with limits for better operational performance
  • Implement a payment settlement system for the client to handle the invoice payment for the plant performance
  • Responsible for Implementing QHSE procedures and liaising with the QHSE manager

Worked as an Operations and Maintenance performance Manager at VeBes O&M company responsible for the ISTP2 Wastewater treatment facility, a JV BOOT project between BESIX and Veolia in the Middle East.

Responsibilities included Facility Management, Team guidance through cognitive behavioural culture, Operational compliance, reliable Maintenance and Process expertise to support the O&M team, and Ensuring Sustainable Excellence of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, by vision, policies, regulations, procedures, KPIs and the Integrated Management System.Representative and Leader for the Wastewater treatment process, Water quality and asset management for the contract in the Middle East region. Health and safety will be highest priority.


Key responsibilities as below

  • Manage, Optimize and control the process and operations of the WW plant of capacity 300MLD in which processes involved are Coarse and fine screening, Grit and grease removal, Primary lamella clarifiers, Activated sludge process, Clarifiers, Sand filters, Electrochlorination system, Drum thickeners, Anaerobic digestion, Biogas, Centrifuge, Drying beds.
  • Defined relevant operational KPIs for all the process units with limits
    for proper operational control.Build Process monitoring protocols and tools (Process table, Process calculation table, Mass balance tables, Process diagrams, and process loads distribution diagrams)
  • Prepare relevant SOPs and manuals for the smooth and safe operations of the plant.
  • Identification of suitable chemicals considering the cost and risk in
    operation.(Eg: Selection of polymer)
  • Implementation of dashboards and automated tools for day-to-day monitoring of the plant performance
  • Troubleshooting and detailed study on several process issues in
    the plant(Eg: Nitrification issues, Struvite,OCU performance,Digester
    operations etc) provided an action plan for rectification of the issues.
  • Defining preventive maintenance schedules with the checklist for all the equipment in the plant and revamping the schedules with actual failures.
  • Apply lean methodologies and proper RCA in place for addressing issues in the plant.
  • Prepare a business plan for the new project/asset by analyzing
    different options and provide the best option with the lowest annual
    average cost considering capex and opex.
  • Defined strict guidelines on spare parts management and defined
    process in place for min max definition to reduce obsolescence in
    finance books.
  • Responsible for the implementation of asset management with
    the group guidelines.
  • Defined relevant KPIs for the monitoring of maintenance performance.
  • Performing annual reviews to identify the bad actors and put in place
    action plans.
  • Manage the client reporting for daily, weekly monthly and ad-hoc reports.
  • Responsible for all communication with client & establishing a strong relationship with project stakeholders.
  • Define, Prepare and forecast the budget for the O&M of the wastewater treatment plant.
  • Work closely with procurement to achieve the efficiency plan by balancing the quality,cost for the materials.
  • Provide training to the teams on technical and soft skills.( Delivered
    around 20 E-learning sessions in the last 2 years)
  • Lead and directed the ISO implementation for ISO 550001(Asset Management), ISO 9001(Quality), ISO 17025(Laboratory).
