Work History

Senior Scientist

  • Specializes in the study of epigenetic biomarkers in peripheral white blood cells to predict cancer risk and to discover natural epigenetic therapeutic chemicals for cancer treatment and prevention. I discovered that methylation of the cancer suppressor genes BRCA1 and MGMT in white blood cells raises the risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer.
  • Simultaneously managed several complex projects, meeting all pertinent milestones

01.2005 - 05.2023
  • I founded and led the Cancer Epigenetics Section in the department of molecular oncology for 18 years, which studies epigenetic biomarkers in peripheral white blood cells to predict cancer risk and discovers natural epigenetic therapeutic chemicals for cancer treatment and prevention.
  • Exercised leadership capabilities by successfully motivating and inspiring others
  • Self-motivated, with a strong sense of personal responsibility

01.1998 - 01.2005
  • I worked in the Molecular Oncology, Cancer Biology, and Experimental Therapeutics sections of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre.
