(b. 1993) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Sara Alghesheyan is a multimedia artist. She began making short films while pursuing her BA degree in Media and Film at the University of San Francisco (2019). She received an MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts from Duke University (2024). Alghesheyan has been awarded scholarships from the Higher Education Ministry (2014) and the Culture Ministry (2022) of Saudi Arabia, as well as a residency at the Misk Art Institute in Berlin (2023). She is also co-instructor of ART of the MOOC: Colors, Bodies, and Power, a collaborative lecture series with over 78,000 enrolled learners in 134 countries, produced by Duke University, Creative Time NY, University of the Arts Berlin, and the Mellon Foundation.
