• Monitor and control on-board electrical/electronic and ICT equipment - servers, communication antennas, telephone systems, GMDSS, VSAT, Starlink, OneWeb, Iridium, Thuraya, and HF/VHF/UHF radio - in compliance with safety procedures, sustaining 99.9% uptime across a multi-vessel fleet.
• Define maintenance work priorities and propose maintenance schedules for ICT and communications equipment, coordinating rapid diagnosis and resolution with captains and crew to minimize operational disruption.
• Propose required quantities of spares and material stock levels to management, ensuring continuous availability of critical ICT and communications equipment.
• Apply IT and communications system modifications to keep vessels compliant with project IT requirements, GMDSS/SATC/IMN standards, and flag-state/IMO regulations, including LRIT/SSAS activation, deactivation, and reporting.
• Support ARAMCO inspections and IMO compliance audits, maintaining ICT/communications equipment documentation, network diagrams, connection schematics, and operational/radio logs for audit readiness.
• Liaise with ICT/communications equipment vendors, satellite service providers, agents, and shore teams to coordinate servicing, spares procurement (PR/PO), and installation of new systems, ensuring work activities comply with safety practices.
• Deploy and manage cybersecurity infrastructure (UTM/firewall, VPN, Active Directory, endpoint protection) and full IT/network support (Windows/Linux, Microsoft 365, TCP/IP, VLAN) safeguarding vessel and shore-based ICT systems.
• Support integration of vessel digitalization and automation platforms (Smart Ship, SCADA, PLC controllers) with shipboard ICT and monitoring systems.
