- To enhance the patient's & employee safety in radiology & MRI units.
- To apply the justification & ALARA principles.
- To provide state of art radiology procedures with dose reduction, patient comfort and security.
- To update the techniques of radiology, CT and MRI investigations.
- To improve the quality of radiology services in (Routine calibration, quality assurance & quality control).
- To apply the guidelines regarding the radiology workspace (display luminance, viewing, boxes, post processing tools: MPR, MIP, VRT, Advanced vascular analysis & others).
- To standardize the radiology template reports according to the ACR & to satisfy the needs of referring physicians.
- To inspire fellows & technologists.
- To teach & train junior staff.
- To promote collegial decisions in patient's work-up.
Responsibilities:
Conventional Radiology:
Interpretation of routine x-rays.
performance and interpretation of special fluoroscopic procedures
e.g. (upper and lower GI contrast studies, IVU, VCUG, Ascending urethrography ).
Diagnostic Ultrasound & Doppler:
Performance and interpretation of Diagnostic ultrasound examinations e.g (Hepatobiliary imaging, obstetric and Gynecologic examinations including TVS, Urogenital imaging, scrotal imaging, Superficial part imaging including (Thyroid & Breast )and vascular Imaging ( Doppler studies).
CT Scan:
Writing CT reports by using the state of art multidetector CT scan such as Head, Neck, Chest including (HRCT & imaging for Pulmonary Embolism), abdomen, Pelvis, Upper & lower limbs, Intracranial contents, Petrous bone & IAM’s, Sinuses, facial bones & orbits, Colonography, Spine, Musculoskeletal extremities.
MRI:
Writing reports for MRI exams by using the state of art closed 1.5Tesla MRI machine such as (Brain, Neck, Spine, Musculoskeletal extremities, Abdomen & Pelvis).
BMD :
Writing reports for BMD exams.
