Working as Senior Drilling Engineer in exploration department planning and following-up execution of challenging exploration wells. Starting from well design concept selection with exploration team, performing detailed design and securing long lead items required for well execution.

Participate in business plan & budget preparation and follow up the performance & wells delivery.

Designing and follow up operations execution of different types of wells: Horizontal and sidetrack wells. Preparing all well design and planning documents including Drilling Programs and Site Specific Safety Plan and generating AFE for assigned wells. Preparing Well Completion documents including End of Wells Reports. Training and coaching of Junior engineers.

Materials and rig selection for special wells. Follow up with all services providers to assure operations easiness and plan ahead for our wells. Manage field visits to rigs assigned. HSE culture awareness spreading. Prepare drillability studies and follow the stacking of different fields.

• Lead the delivery of Field Development Plan of “Mega Project” which is an offshore development project including up to 7 platforms and 16 development wells
• Drilling Highly Deviated Offshore Jack-up Wells including non-routine activities of de-completion, proper P&A, Slot Recovery, Window milling and sidetrack to reach the planned horizons through existing wells
• Prepare detailed well design, drilling design documents, and drilling programs
• The detailed well design overcome challenges like casing design without losing hole size required at the reservoir, drilling through different formations including unstable shale, highly depleted sands etc
• Detailed Well Design includes Casing Design, Hydraulics Analysis, Kick Tolerances Calculations, Cementing Design, Drilling Fluids Design, BHA Design, Centralization Analysis, and Casing/Liner Rotation Analysis
• Based on the Detailed Design above, define and secure the required Well Equipment that achieve the well design
• Participate and Lead different Tenders including Tenders for Jack-up Rig, Supply Vessels, LLI’s etc
• Offset review and data base creating
• Perform cost analysis and development of well cost estimates for the planned wells
• Use of Petrel Well Trajectory Module that is integrated with the Geological Model in for optimum well profiles and platforms surface locations

• Provide planning and operational support for deepwater wells up to 1000m water depth in West Delta Deep Marine Environment (WDDM Concession) Egypt Mediterranean Offshore
• Offset review and data base creating
• Prepare detailed well design, drilling design documents and drilling programs
• Developing BoD for development subsea gas wells including well design, casing design, scheduling, torque and drag, side-tracking and workovers
• Challenges include potential shallow flows, design of light weight conductor cementing in low strength formations, jetting conductor, drill through multi reservoir interval with depleted zones requiring an elevated awareness off well control, stuck pipe and mud losses all the time, Concentric hole opening reamers were used to achieve the casing scheme, Stress cage technology was used to enhance natural rock strength, Managed drilling practices through unstable shale formations with water based drilling fluids
• Providing daily operational support for deep water gas wells (400 – 1200 water depth) to ensure the safe and cost effective execution of well operations
• Provide program amendments and dispensations to policy when required
• Participate in the planning for new phase of development included nine deepwater wells
• Responsibilities include preparation of time and cost estimate for the project based on learning curve method and detailed operation time break down, preliminary well design, and stock management to ensure availability of the required LLI's
• Evaluate new drilling tools and equipment, procedures and practices that may be implemented to reduce cost and increase operational efficiency

• Review well design for different Assets for BG Group, mainly BG Thailand using StressCheck and WellCAT
• Worked with Well Engineering Department within London and Houston on an abandonment project of land wells located in Louisiana
• The project included defining the right scope of work, required equipment and writing down the program for the required operations
• Coordinate performance benchmarking for the different operations within the BG Group by preparing Benchmark Charts using (Rushmore Database) and evaluating the wells performance accordingly
• Participate in the coordination of wells decommissioning liability for BG Group and prepared Instructions to ensure consistency in the evaluation of the decommissioning liability within the Group different Assets
• Worked with BG Group Well Engineering Business Improvement Team in defining and evaluating Business Improvement Initiatives that can help in improving and optimizing the Well Engineering Department way of work

• Ensuring safe execution and delivery of well construction and intervention activity in line with legislation, HSSE expectations and company policy and Procedures
• Implemented program and managed operations under guidance of senior drilling supervisor
• Report accurately on drilling activities
• Completed daily reports, forecasts and prepared hole sections instructions
• Killed gas wells kicks as required using different well control methods
• Recording and analysis of NPT and Total Value Drilling Time (TVD)
• Prepare Non Conformance Reports (NCR) and solutions for improvement

• Use the latest technology tools for monitoring and measurements of formation pressure as BAKER TesTrak and Halliburton Geotab

• Drilled single bore and multi-lateral Horizontal wells using Baker Autotrack/Ontrack steerable tools with both SOBM and WBM horizontal sections with lateral target tolerance +/-20 m and Vertical +/- 1 m
• Drilling through depleted reservoirs with differential sticking, severe losses and well bore stability challenges
• Applied ERD wells practices for hole cleaning, managing the mechanical loads on the drill string and managing downhole pressure at long horizontal sections
• Wells completed by lower completion 7” x 5 ½” Liner string with ECP and Swell Packers
• Upper completion 4-1/2" tubing X 3-1/2" tubing X PDHG, TRSSV
• Rig: Chetna – Great Drill Ship; 15k BOP, Jack Up

• Worked as a Drilling Engineer in the team responsible for planning two Exploration Wells one of them was HPHT well
• Then worked as Wellsite Drilling Engineer on both wells during the execution phase
• Prepared Casing Design and Casing Pressure Testing Document using StressCheck, Drillstring Design T&D and Hydraulics on WellPlan, Mud Weight Selection Technical Note, Well AFE and Performance Tracking guides, Landing String Design using Slip Crushing Criteria and the required well dispensations
• Supported Senior Drilling Supervisor in supervising the operations
• Prepared Daily Drilling Reports using WELLVIEW Software, Work instruction for Rig Crew, Casing Tally and cement calculations and End of hole section summary and capture the lessons learned
• Track the well performance on daily basis
