Geospatial & Structural Stratigraphic Mapping – Southeastern Harrat Al-Shaqah

  • Processed Landsat 8/9 OLI and ASTER multispectral satellite data using ArcGIS Pro to successfully design and deliver 15 specialized geological, structural, and hydro-environmental maps.
  • Created a multispectral Layer Stack (B1-B7) of Landsat 8/9 OLI data to accurately delineate regional geology, country rocks, and schist formations.
  • Applied specific Landsat OLI color combinations (7,6,2) and (7,5,3) on the processed stack to enhance spectral discrimination between lithological units.
  • Processed ASTER SWIR and TIR (Thermal Infrared) bands, utilizing specialized spectral signatures to isolate silica-rich bodies, map quartz veins, and trace alteration zones.
  • Executed advanced Band Ratioing on enhanced Landsat & ASTER datasets to target iron oxides, clay minerals, and schist, blending the anomaly rasters to retain topographic context.
  • Generated a precise Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and contour lines to analyze surface topography, mapping structural faults and drainage networks (watersheds).
  • Developed comprehensive vector data layers for mineralization zones, integrating all raster-vector datasets into high-precision cartographic maps of Harrat Al-Shaqah for exploration targeting.
