The Design Coordinator plays a vital role in overseeing the design process in construction projects, ensuring that all design aspects are well-integrated, coordinated, and meet project specifications, building codes, and construction feasibility. They act as a liaison between architects, engineers, consultants, and construction teams, ensuring that design deliverables are timely, accurate, and constructible.
1. Maintain organized records of design documents, approvals, and correspondence.
2. Prepare design progress reports and submit them to senior management.
3. Ensure all design deliverables are submitted on time and are up to the required quality.
4. Manage and update BIM (Building Information Modeling) and CAD drawings as needed.
5. Organize, update, and archive documents (drawings, contracts, RFIs, submittals, reports, etc.).
6. Ensure documentation is in compliance with industry regulations, project requirements, and company policies.
7. Coordinate with internal and external parties for document approvals and reviews.
1. Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify conflicts and ensure alignment.
2. Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve design issues.
3. Ensure that the design follows project specifications, regulatory requirements, and construction feasibility.
4. Monitor and track design changes, RFIs (Requests for Information), and approvals.
5. Act as a primary point of contact between design teams and construction teams.
6. Organize and lead design coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and project teams.
7. Ensure that all designs comply with local building codes, safety standards, and best practices.
