Managers Award: Nuclear Safety Hero - Koeberg Nuclear Power Station
Jun 2017 : An outage activity making use of potable water to wash down the CRF Drum Screens Pit area was stopped by Brandon due to water shortages. Brandon came up with an alternative method of achieving the same goal and in the process contributed to a sustainable environment by saving millions of litres of fresh water per activity. Eskom employees and equipment will in future carry out this activity rather than contractors using rental equipment, this is a further saving of half a million rand per drum screen cleaning activity.
