As a Shutdown Leader, responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage comprehensive shutdown plans for electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear breakers, relays, etc. Determine necessary maintenance activities, replacement of parts and repair.
- Coordinate the schedule for shutdowns and restarts to minimize disruptions and ensure continuity in operations. Prioritize tasks based on the criticality of operations.
- Lead and oversee a team of electrical technicians and engineers in the shutdown, testing, and maintenance activities. Ensure that tasks are delegated appropriately and performed efficiently.
- Perform or oversee the testing of electrical equipment before shutdown and post-maintenance to ensure they are operating correctly. This may include but is not limited to insulation resistance testing, operational testing of relays, switchgear breakers, transformers, etc.
- Establish and enforce safety protocols for all shutdown and electrical testing work. Ensure full compliance with all safety procedures and regulations during high voltage testing and maintenance.
- Maintain open lines of communication with all stakeholders involved in the shutdown. Regularly update them on progress, possible risks, and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Generate end-of-shutdown reports detailing all maintenance activities performed, test results, and potential improvement areas.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all testing and maintenance activities, including data sheets of tested equipment, test results, actions taken, etc.
