As a Cardiology fellow at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, I’ve embraced every challenge as a chance to grow. Over the past two years, I’ve gained valuable knowledge, strengthened my clinical skills, and found great fulfillment in the continuous learning this field offers.
A key highlight of my career was being selected as Chief Resident during my R4 year. I led over 100 residents in our program while simultaneously having clinical duties and preparing for my Board exam. This experience taught me the significance of effective communication, delegation, and leadership. As Chief Resident, I supported and encouraged my peers while holding them accountable for upholding the highest patient care and professional standards. I listened to their complaints and tried my best to accommodate them and ensure they had a healthy environment to live up to their full potential. This role further boosted my organization, time management, and decision-making skills, which I have applied to all aspects of my residency and beyond.
Having spent my childhood in Canada, I have always had fond memories of my time there. I was fortunate enough to visit Canada several times after and have had beautiful experiences. For that reason, I have always wanted an opportunity to give back to the people of Canada. As I aspire to be a medical professional, completing my training in adult cardiology in Canada is my dream. Training in the medical field in Canada is world-class, and I want to be part of it. By training in Canada, I can get hands-on experience, learn from accomplished Doctors in a structured, well-organized program, and contribute to the ongoing advancements and research in adult cardiology. Most importantly, it will give me the tools to be a competent cardiologist who can provide the highest quality of care to his patients. Having a chance to receive such high-quality training while giving back to the Canadian people during that time would be a dream come true.
