Australian Nurse Family Partnership Program is a health promotion program to support pregnant women and promote early childhood development up to 2 years of age. We look after any Aboriginal or Torres Straight islander cultural background women or a woman carrying an Aboriginal or Torres Straight islander baby. It is a home visiting and/or outreach-based program, where Aboriginal Family Partnership Workers and Nurses/Midwives work together to support families. We follow them through from pregnancy and up until baby is 2 years of age. It is an education purpose program, and we also do lots of assessment, critical thinking and education with mum and baby.
