Infrastructure
- Review shop drawings, vendor design packages for all mechanical underground utilities (storm and sanitary drainage, firefighting, LPG and Irrigation system) and other site related quality and health and safety documentation.
- Review of material technical submittal for underground pipes, fittings and valve for mechanical utilities.
- Review method of statement (MOS),
- Monitor all site related material quantity by providing asset monitoring log for delivered and undelivered materials and equipments
- Support the subcontractor in solving technical issues at site and assisting in documentation for raising technical queries when required.
- Giving suggestion to contractor /subcontractor in making quality documents in line with project specification/standard and procedures on how to maintain good records for drawing, submittal and other project records .
- Consistently coordinating with all other discipline (electrical, civil, surveyor and architectural) for all new structure (Lift stations, sump pits and manholes) works to coordinate mechanical pipe sleeve’s location and elevation for pipe penetration to avoid clashing with new and existing utilities.
- Initiating submission of pre-commissioning, testing and commissioning plan schedule and Method of statement for all external/underground utilities.
- Advice in the planning, co-ordination and supervision of technical aspects of construction projects. Identify and solving technical issues, providing advice, management and preparing reports
- Monitor site activities to ensure that construction is progressing according to approved drawings, planned schedules and budgets.
- Attend coordination meetings with all discipline making sure utilities are to be laid without any clashing or interference.
Other responsiblities
- Leading engineers to make detail review of the IFC design documents and highlight the issues if any in the log or file.
- Leading engineers to make detail review of the Project specification documents and highlight the issues if any in the log or file.
- Reviewing the scope of work and the contract between the main contractor and the client.
- Reviewing the sub-contractors prequalification documents.
- Providing technical advice for coordination drawings preparation related services using BIM modeling.
- Reviewing the positive and negative variations as per the contract documents.
- Leading Engineers to review the shop drawings, redline drawings, tagging drawings, isometric drawings, as-built drawings, MTS/MR/MR-601/602/603 as per the schedule
- Coordinating with the vendors or manufacturers for the material technical submittal, if any issues.
- Organizing and attending meeting with the manufacturer’s, vendor, subcontractors, department engineers for solving the technical issues
- Attending project, site progress and any services related technical meetings as directed by the project manager.
- Providing advice to the Project Manager in regard to any services related variation costs that may be claimed by the Contractor during the course of the works.
- Set up meetings to resolve specific site problems as required to minimize program delays.
- Reviewing Contractor’s shop drawings against the design [tender] drawings for compliance with the design intent and return to Project Manager with appropriate comments / approval within the specified contractual period
- Where required preparing technical clarifications to the tendered design to suit specific on-site construction and co- ordination issues.
- Reviewing of design in accordance with local codes and international standards (i.e. NFPA)
- Review material submittals of pumps, valves, zone control valves, landing valves, pipes, fire hose cabinets, fire hydrants, fire extinguishers and sprinklers (upright, pendent, concealed, horizontal)
- Supervise contractors team performance, guide and report any problems to the site manager in order to take necessary action.
- Supporting the IFC designer for the designing of Mechanical Piping, HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing and DDC/BMS system with respect to IFB design documents
- Coordinating with the designer and client (SAPMT) for the designing of the systems.
- Raising the TQ to SAPMT for the deficiencies in the system with the alternative solutions with the applicable codes and standards
- Reviewing the calculations, IFC drawings, the sequence of operation, specifications, equipment schedules, etc… with respect to IFB design documents
- Reviewing the shop drawings, redline drawings, tagging drawings, isometric drawings and as-built drawings submitted by subcontractors.
- Coordinating with electrical department before the energization of the equipment’s.
- Reviewing control diagrams for DDC and BMS system.
- Review and approve shop drawings, vendor design packages for all mechanical underground utilities (storm and sanitary drainage, firefighting, LPG and Irrigation system) other site related quality and health and safety documentation.
