I have been working at Garri 1&2 combined cycle power plant (440MW), with 8 × 40MW GE frame 6 gas turbines, and 4 × 30 MW steam turbines, my responsibilities are:

• Lead department and supervising I&C engineers and technicians highly specialized maintenance/technical servicing in thermal power plant.
• Prepare and manage I&C team and setting goals, budgets and timeline for various projects.
• Maintenance planning and management for shutdowns (scope, workforce, schedule consumable material, spare parts).
• Monitor reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest improvements.
• Design strategies for future development projects based on company overall objectives and resources.
• Implements Integrated Management System for quality, environment and health and safety system in department.
• Ensure compliance with safety and security regulations and coordinates with other departments.
• In time Procurement action for maintenance spares and consumables and coordination with procurement department.
• Troubleshooting, modification and configuration of control systems including: GE speedtronic Mark V and Mark VI, ABB freelance 2000 DCS with AC800FR controller, SCADA, Siemens PLCs, Bently Nevada 3500 (MMS), ESD, Turbine Control System (TCS) and Woodward 505 governor controller.
• Participation in HAZOP, LOPA and SIL studies, implement and close the Actions Items corresponding to instrumentation discipline.
• Analyzing PM & CM effectiveness and update PM plans accordingly to maximize plant efficiency.
• Review and update policies relevant to internal systems and equipment.
• Implement innovation technologies so that to maximize productivity and help company grow.

I have worked at Garri3 power plant project (3×187 MW Siemens SGT5 - 2000E gas turbine with T3000 DCS control system). As I&C construction engineer responsible for:

• Develop technical and design criteria, process and instrumentation diagram, block diagrams, process control function narratives, control schematics, panel layout diagram, instrument selection and sizing, and interconnection diagram.
• Prepare budgeting, planning, cost estimating of instrumentation and control system projects and assignments.
• Draft and review construction schedules, environmental impact studies and project design.
• Review calculations and analytical data to maintain accuracy of technical reports.
• Visiting project sites during construction to monitor progress and consult with contractors and on-site engineers.
• Inspection of field instruments and cable trays installations and verify that all equipment installed as per standards and quality plan, and raise Punch list.
• Perform FAT and SAT as planned, raised discrepancies, and documented result.
• Implementing instrumentation and control system commissioning from inception to startup and turn over.

I have worked at Garri4 sponge coke power plant (110 MW), 2 CFB Boiler each with 55MW steam turbine. As I&C Maintenance engineer responsible for:

• Testing and maintenance of different control systems include: PLCs (Siemens S7-200, S7-300 and S7-400, s7-1200), Mitsubishi and Delta GE OC4000 DCS, ESD, EPRO MMS6000 (Machine Monitoring System), TCS, Advanced microprocessor controller for coal and limestone feed system (Stock Equipment Company's 196NT).
• Calibrate, test and maintenance of different types of field installed instruments including (temperature, pressure, flow-meter, level, speed, vibration, analysers, … etc.) and actuators.
• Implement I&C projects and modifications (design, drawing, logic developing, procurement).
• Responsible to assign daily maintenance work loads and to supervise and evaluate performance of assigned responsibilities.
• Participate in acceptance test of new facilities when requested.
• Design, installation, modification, testing and troubleshooting of HVAC and low current systems including (fire alarm, CCTV, access control, sound and communication system).

• Inspected materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Observed work and monitor gauges, dials and other indicators to ensure that operators conformed to production or processing standard.
• Enforce safety and sanitation regulation.
• Read and analyze work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine current production estimates and outputs.
• Set up, adjust and start machines and equipment in order to begin production process.
• Perform maintenance and ensure that process does not slow down production in factory.

• Design, install, maintain and monitor solar systems.
• Identify potential solar energy applications in buildings and other environments.
• Conduct site assessments and make recommendations on solar energy feasibility.
• Great technical drawings and design documents for solar energy system.
• Ensure solar energy systems are compliant with relevant legislation.
• Provide technical advice to clients and colleague.

I have worked under the supervision of highly qualified automation engineers on:

• Loop check and troubleshooting.
• Calibration of field instruments.
• Perform preventive and some corrective maintenance.
• Implement and use of control system documentation including (instrument data sheet, PID, loop diagram, instrument list, …. etc) in diagnostic and troubleshooting.
• Prepare report for completed maintenance work.
